    PRACTICING SKILLS of:

  • Relationship building; with nurses and medical staff, family members and loved ones, team members
  • Coma communication with patients with traumatic brain injury and in metabolic coma
  • Following processes and counseling in coma
  • Counseling in recovery
  • Recording and verifying information
  • Writing case studies
  • Working with our own edges
  • Debriefing and self care practices

    REFELECTING ON ATTITUDES to:

  • Choice and ethics
  • Self care
  • Experts and lay people
  • Deep democracy in ourselves, clients and others

At the end of this training you will be asked to return for an evening to:

  • Fill in a questionnaire to ensure understanding of the content of this training
  • Counsel someone the trainer will present to you:

    o A partner who has recovered from a coma
    o A family member dealing with long term coma scenario
    o Nursing staff burn-out

  • Present a case study of a client
  • Be able to catch and discuss your own edge behaviour
